work in progress pt 7

Ruth sat in old wooden chair in the ranger’s office. She hadn’t really been worried when her fiancé and his friends were late getting to the campsite. However, when dusk began to fall she radioed to the nearest ranger station to report them as possibly missing. She had been relieved to hear that the rangers were actually picking up a group of hikers that matched the description she had given. The rangers arranged to have her meet the disheveled group in a hospitable move to calm any of her fears. So now she sat, waiting.
Outside, “ I still can’t believe that we were stumbling in an unstable cavern area and didn’t know it.” Alex exclaimed as he reached for the doorknob.
“ It is most beneficial to be able to read the warning signs posted along the trails, Senor. While most of the park land is safe, the Island of Rabida is quite volcanic. We have been picking up more seismic activity than normal, so please use all caution.”
